Contemporary Design Characteristics
Follow these simple steps to re-create the Modern Grass Table Arrangement:-
Materials Used: Gloriosa Lilies x 6 stems Anthurium x 5 stems Tillandsia usneoides x handful Chrysanthemum 'Kermit' x 2 stems Xerophyllum Tenax (Bear Grass) Floral foam Low rectangle dish Copper mesh | FLOWER TRIVIA: This beautiful tropical lily originates from Uganda in Africa and contains a toxin which was once used to cure gout and rheumatics. It is commonly used in modern designs for it's dramatic and textural and delicate appearance. The Anthurium have several common names amongst which include 'naughty boys' and 'flamingo flower. They are used in modern designs and can be mistaken for being artificial due to their waxy texture. |
Prepare the dish with floral foam secured by frogs to ensure the foam remains stable.
Insert a strip of chicken wire in a wavy line going length ways across the foam.
Staple 3 bear grass leaves together at the base and plait along the length. The end can be bullion wired. Several plaits are required. STEP 3:- Insert the plaited leaves into the foam at the staple end and loop them over the chicken wire and thread through the chicken wire to the right hand side. Bind all of the ends of the bear grass together with bullion wire to make a tail. |
Insert the flowers directionally to follow the direction of the bear grass. Hide the base with the Tillandsia usneoides.
